Ogan Ozsoy, Ph.D.
Quantitative Risk Analyst @ Scotiabank, Canada.
Before my recent move into finance, I spent several years in theoretical physics, in my time as a Juan de la Cierva Fellow at the Institute of Theoretical Physics (IFT), Madrid and in postdoctoral roles at CEICO ( at Czech Academy of Sciences), the University of Warsaw, and Swansea University in the UK. I hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Syracuse University (USA).
I also keep a personal blog where I explore the mathematical ideas that shape quantitative finance, machine learning, and models of the natural world.
" The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent; but if we can come to terms with this indifference and accept the challenges of life within the boundaries of death - however mutable man may be able to make them - our existence as a species can have genuine meaning and fulfilment. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light."
Stanley Kubrick
" I learned very early the difference between knowing the name of something and knowing something."
